So different yet so alike

Hello,

I had to stay home from work because I have twisted vertebrae, so I had to lay down a lot this week. My two boys were fantastic and were trying to entertain me :-) God bless them.

They are so precious to me and being their mommy is a huge honour. They are like the best of friends, so cute, so different and yet so alike. I find it so freaky when you discover bits and pieces from your own personality in the way they behave.

I always kind of knew I would be a boy’s mommy. I don't mind it; they are sooooo in love with you when they are little and give you lots of kisses and hugs. I know I need to enjoy it while I can, because it will only last for a few more years before they get embarrassed. It sounds like music to my ears when they tell me that they love me and think I'm sweet every morning and evening. My husband sometimes feels left out because in the morning they are like really wrestling to get a cuddle first :-)

It changed me in so many ways; when we play dress-up, it's with the Spiderman’s, Batman’s and other Superhero's from these days! I know all the characters from Cars and Planes. When we are out I'm like: Rik where is your Finn McMissile car? People will look at me like if I'm retarded. For those who don't know, it's a character from Cars :-) I had to start living with the thought that my toilet seat is more up then down, I have to iron more shirts then ever but nothing can beat the two smiles on their faces. I love them so much.

My colleague and one of my best friends, Noortje Bruyninckx, made these very cute pictures. What do you think of them?

Oh and I would also want to thank my followers on Instagram, I've reached 1000 followers. Thank you very much, for those who still want to follow @ini_mini_mie

A passion for fashion...

Hi there,

Ever since I was a little a girl, I wanted to work in fashion. I always tried to create something new with my tiny Singer sewing machine. When I got to the age of 12, it wasn't only for fun but also because it was necessary. I was about 6ft 2in and I had to make my own trousers, because I couldn't find some of my length. My mum's friend made me some trousers at first and soon I discovered I could make them myself. We bought some pattern books and mum and I tried to make my first pair of self-made trousers. It worked.

When I was about 18 years old, I decided to go and study Graphic Design, because I thought I couldn't make as a Fashion Designer. But I never lost my passion for fashion. I'm so happy I got to start working at JBC last year. After working for about 8 years now, they finally brought me some fashion back in my life.

It is an amazing company to work for. Let me take you behind the scenes.

Each season a creative team interprets the latest fashion trends and translates it into different looks for the JBC customer. They try to make the fashion from the catwalk portable, and more importantly affordable for all women.

Our trend watcher and Head of design analyze all major trends during the Fashion Weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris. They note what is really hot and 'upcoming' by making a mood board.

Our Head of Design will then starts sketching, designing and choosing the fabrics.
This years spring collection features a lot of leather, animal-prints, sportswear, and new flower prints...

The designs will be shown to a wide group of experts. Everyone gives his or her input and the stylist will finish a full theme in detail.

The result is a trendy and bold Lookbook spring / summer collection (watch the full collection here). These are my favourite looks.
